The property was well maintained. Room was updated with nice modern decor. The oceanfront balcony was amazing.

I did a lot of research and checking reviews and they did not disappoint. I loved it here.

Nice and clean, staff was nice. It was a lady at the steakhouse that made my group uncomfortable but other than that it was a beautiful experience. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. The bellhops were too, we didn’t have to lift a bag the whole stay. I can’t wait to go again.

Our room on the 10th floor of building C was wonderful with an amazing view, very convenient to the breakfast buffet and coffee shop downstairs. The staff from the moment you arrive is very friendly and accommodationing. Distance from the airport is a huge perk. The grounds were very lovely. We would absolutely book this resort again!

Drink service at the pool bars could be improved upon and a little bit more effort into making the drinks would go a long way. I can easily poor a liquor and a splash of a mixer in a glass at home. We want a little bit extra when on a vacation. Pina coladas were pre made and dispensed, beer selection was minimal. Room service came very late in the day which for us waking up earlier doesn't work out well. We mentioned we needed towels to guest services and this was resolved.

I love the reception of the staff they are friendly they were respectful they made us feel welcome and it was indeed great room service was great and the butler he was exceptional the wonderful lady at the spa she was breathtaking therapeutic and gifted with Healing Hands

The food was okay but dinner was more for those who have not been exposed to the Jamaican Cuisine I would have loved some more authentic Jamaican food on the menus

I ended my my stay there 3 days early because of the extra charges and misleading advertisement.

The room sizes offered was great and pleasing.

I traveled and vacationed by myself. I felt the staff showed more favor to the married couples and family’s. Seemed noticeable and a little disturbing. The very most dislike is paying the high amount of money to stay there for an all inclusive resort but that is not what it really is. Very false advertisement when certain food items are an extra charge to be able to eat them. To eat the best food you have to pay extra. A huge turn off and disappointment. Will not return there because of that. Especially the amount of cost to stay there it should be all foods included when other resorts don’t do that. Will pick another resort not charging extra. So awkward to sit in the restaurant and order what I want to eat and to hear them say “that will be an extra charge is that ok”? Who wants to hear that on a paid all inclusive vacation! I’m on a vacation to enjoy not to keep track what I may spend trying to have a nice time! That’s some real truth and feedback for you.

I LOVED everything about the Jewel of Montego Bay

My husband and I were looking for a way to totally relax in Jamaica. We were told to go to the Jewel to relax. So we booked it and went. This place completely exceeded our expectations. Everything was simply put amazing, and for the cost (we had stayed in two other places in Jamaica) we just could not stop being amazed. The coffee shop, the entertainment, the dinners, the rooms (OMG), the gym, the spa, not to mention the beaches, the workout classes, and the drinks and buffets. What more could you ask for on a vacation. We will be staying at the Jewel every - time. If you want to relax with your kids, this is the exact place to stay. Do not stay anywhere else as an experiment, just come straight here. You can get cash here but you can't get more cash. You have to go to the Hilton to get more cash at the ATM. But if you need to get smaller bills they will do that for you. The service is impeccable.

I will not stay here again because the price of the room wasn’t worth it, better options in Mobay

They served some authentic Jamaican meals. The property is beautiful and has some good potential.

The service is very poor because they do not honor what they clearly state to offer. My room wasn’t clean thoroughly from the previous guest. Crumbs on the counter, hair on the sofa, soap scum in the bathroom. I paid for a ocean view but received a parking lot view with a slight ocean glimpse. I never saw the “butler” after the initial check in. The check in and check out were slow processes. The price is too high to not receive quality service. The phone in the sitting area of my room didn’t work. I was too annoyed to bother any further and just wanted to check out as soon as possible. The property appeared barren with exception of my friends guests for her wedding. I was bored most of my time there.

I liked the room and property very much, but they need to work on fine-tuning the product more.

The rooms are more like apartments than a typical hotel room. There is a stove, dishwasher, etc. It was nicely furnished and comfortable to both entertain and do work. The beds were divine! Housekeeping and food service inside rooms were great.

The on-boarding and any communication over the phones are terrible. At check-in and on-line, the place is described as "all-inclusive", yet it was only when we ordered room service that we were told there was a $5 charge. This hotel does not have a printed map, so the butler (yes, we got a letter saying that there were 2 assigned to our room), would assist. We could never get these butlers, not even at check-out. I requested assistance with my bags for an 11 am check-out; yet, at 11:20 a.m. I was still waiting until I decided to take my bags downstairs myself. Communication on a whole needs to be improved. Bar has quality liquor, but bartenders that I used did not know how to mix simple drinks... pina colada and whiskey sours were off-balanced. Stick to something on the rocks.

The staff was very professional and worked diligently to make our stay as comfortable as possible. This was supported by cleanliness and comfort of the room. the food choices were well displayed.

The malfunctioning elevator ruined our weekend, we were locked inside for a considerable time, which was unbearable due claustrophobia & resulting panic attack. It jammed 6 times over the 3 days.

Great Resort....in the making.

The location and cleanliness of the resort is great. Very good food at all available restaurants.

The Concierge/ front desk team is not competent!!!!! We tried to book the seats at one of the restaurants ( the one that required it) and it was not done although confirmed. Similarly, we reserved the airport shuttle providing all required information but it appeared at the day of leaving that it was not booked for us!!!!!!! Luckily other guests were leaving at the same time and the bus was big enough to take us. Butler service is useless. As during check in we did not receive the room we booked iit took the butler several hours (till late evening) to make the room usable (puttting one more bed) by our family. Not a single shop in the whole resort. Not enough information about the facilities- no folders, flyers in the lobby/room or even phone directory in the room. The guests are supposed to get “Jewel Times” (information what is happening during the day )every day but we did not receive it throughout the whole stay. You feel lost until you figure out what is where. No directions what is where (important for the restaurants). You can see a lot of service stuff but they do not work as a team; we were approached several times during meals by different waiters saying that they will be serving us.

The first impression was outstanding hopefully the administration focus to improve the services

Beautiful property located in a great area in Montego Bay close to the airport (15 min, complimentary shuttle) and downtown but properly isolated from the traffic and noise. Fantastic cuisine, we tried the main 3 restaurants (excluding the pool restaurants, we have all inclusive rate). The buffet is always different, with multiple options for all diets/preferences, proper layout for salads, entrees, on demand, desserts and low rise serving for kids. The property has a small but clean, comfortable and equipped beach that includes lounge chair with cushion, and several watersport complementary equipment. The Grande SPA is also great. They have a limited menu of options but are enough to include everybody. Prices, facilities, rooms, and equipment are great for a luxury treatment.

The property has great potential when the staff learns to work as a team, get more training and improve maintenance and service in general. The hotel was recently reopened with an official date of Mid of November and full occupancy during the holidays. There is not always a respect for "first come first services". Took us one hour check in because they passed 2 families before us until we complained. This happened again in the beach waiting for additional lounge chairs. They assign one or two butlers to understand and cover your needs. This is a confusing service. Based on other reviews and our own experience, your comfort depends on who is your butler. Due to full capacity and lack of preparation for the task the hotel was short on room supplies. We did not have towels in the room for 2 days without pushing and several calls. We were having several issues left out from our Butler that we requested to be changed and it was worth it. The general manager was receptive and addressed several of the issues mainly by assigning a more skillful person. I believe that the butler's role is to personalize the services, in other words, we felt we need to check what was offered and ask for what we believe was missing. Initially sounds cool but later we faced the reality that the minimum expectations were not accomplished as missing towels and shampoo and conditioner, or paper towels or napkins in the kitchen. Maintenance and housekeeping were really poor considering that the hotel just opened. Our 2 bedrooms and 3 baths suite faced some issues: master bathroom did not have installed a sliding door to isolate the toilet, this was annoying when you consider that the bathroom has a wide opened window to the master room, the frame is there, the only thing missing is hanging the door. drainage in shower and baths did not have the stop cover leaving you with around 2 in holes exposed to drain also the full shampoo little bottles or any jewelry.

Beach needs some work. Major problem with seaweed that they tend to collect manually every day but I guess that solution is not sufficient enough. Do the swim at the beach was not very pleasant and their two pools are not heated which doesn’t make it comfortable to swim in either especially if you have kids. Good service is very slow . The always try to explain that by being understaffed.
